Blast away with a virtual gun
Shot Sound: Real Gun Simulator is a free app in which you choose a virtual gun and have fun firing it. The point is to prank your friends with loud noises or simply to enjoy the sensation of shooting an imaginary weapon with accompanying effects.
The app is one of many sound-and-animation gun simulators and is similar to Gun Sounds, Shotgun Simulator. Unlike certain rivals like Laser Gun Shooter, it lacks sci-fi guns and lightsabers. Instead, it focuses more on realistic weapons., but the basic idea remains the same.
A library of firearms and stun guns
Shot Sound: Real Gun Simulator opens by asking the user to choose between two categories: Special and Stun. Special contains a variety of real-world firearms, from old-fashioned pistols to machine guns, each with its own paint job.
Meanwhile, the Stun category has a range of stun guns in different shapes and color schemes. You may need to watch an advert before unlocking some of these.
Hold, single, shake, or zap
Whichever weapon you choose, you will be treated to interesting animations and sounds. If you have picked a firearm, you can choose between hold, single, and shake modes. You can also read a small snippet of information on the gun. The stun guns are more limited — you can activate them for a crackling electricity effect, but that is all.
Fiddly reloading
An annoying aspect of Shot Sound: Real Gun Simulator is that each gun has limited ammo, while each stunner has limited energy. Once you have depleted your resource, you'll need to click a reload button, which will be fiddly and pointless for most users.
Limited views
Unlike certain similar apps, there is no way to rotate your gun and view them from different angles. Similarly, the standard option to change the color of the stun gun static is missing, as are alternative backgrounds.
